Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of respecting and protecting the right to freedom of belief and religion of all people at a reception in Hanoi on August 30 for visiting US Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Allison Peters. The two sides made a straightforward discussion on the religious situation in Vietnam, and clarified issues of common concern in the spirit of openness and respect for each other’s political institutions, enhancing understanding, overcoming differences, and contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries.
