UiTM, MBSB Bank ink MoU to establish digital campus in Puncak Alam

SHAH ALAM, Feb 14 (Bernama) — Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) through its Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MBSB Bank to turn the university into a digital campus, beginning with the campus in Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor.

In a statement today, UiTM vice-chancellor Prof Dr Roziah Mohd Janor said the setting up of the digital campus was the main objective of the collaboration.

She said MBSB Bank would be the backbone to make the digitalisation effort a success through the collaboration with FBM – the largest management and business faculty in Malaysia – which was also located at the Puncak Alam Campus.

The MoU aims to strengthen financial literacy through learning programmes and financial management for academic and business development and be a long-term strategic initiative of UiTM.

At the MoU signing ceremony, UiTM was represented by Roziah and MBSB by its group chief executive officer Datuk Nor Azam M.Taib.

FBM’s dean, Prof Dr Firdaus Abdullah and MBSB Bank’s head of digital business Zainul Abidin Mustafa witnessed the signing ceremony at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Chancellery Building, UiTM Shah Alam today.

According to Roziah, the collaboration can expand and boost digitalisation, sustainable economy, academics and research efforts between the two parties, as well as make UiTM a driving force in university services and deliverables techniques that are more effective in line with the demands of current technological advancements.

Meanwhile, Nor Azam said the bank was actively conducting various financial education programmes for youths as well as small and medium enterprises to help them make wise financial decisions.

“We are confident that this collaboration will contribute to human capital development through holistic graduates with high marketability,” he added.
