Tourism Industry Players Urged To Highlight N.Sembilan’s Unique Identities

SEREMBAN, Tourism industry players are encouraged to highlight the nine unique identities of Negeri Sembilan, instead of just focusing on their own products, to help promote the state’s rich diversity and uniqueness.

State Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Nicole Tan Lee Koon, said these nine identities include customs, architecture, traditional food, clothing, flowers, music, dance, songs, and traditional games.

‘For instance, at Kampung JKIN Extreme Park, which offers all-terrain vehicle (ATV) activities, the premises owner could serve gulai kuning, a traditional yellow curry dish and promote it as part of Negeri Sembilan’s culinary heritage,’ she suggested.

‘In addition, incorporating traditional games like gasing (top spinning) and Dam Harimau into tourism packages can enhance the experience for visitors,’ she said in her speech delivered by research officer Syafiq Mehaga at the ‘Media Teghojah Nismilan’ programme attended by around 30 media practitioners today.

Nicole added that the state
government is committed to supporting industry players and strengthening their connections with government agencies.

She also highlighted several suitable locations for off-road motor racing tracks in the forests of Jelebu and Kuala Pilah, which could further expand tourism offerings and attract more visitors to the state.

‘With over 200 captivating tourism products available, including heritage buildings, traditional cuisine, agrotourism, and sports or adventure activities, Negeri Sembilan promises a wealth of experiences for visitors,’ she added.
