TFC Appoints Badrul Afzan As Acting Head Coach Following Steinbruckner’s Exit

KUALA NERUS, Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd has no plans to appoint a new head coach to replace Tomislav Steinbruckner, who resigned two days ago.

The chairman of its Board of Directors, Hishamuddin Abdul Karim, said they have appointed assistant head coach Badrul Afzan Razali to temporarily take on the role until the end of the season, which will be the middle of next year.

Hishamuddin, who is also the Terengganu Football Association president, said they believe Badrul Afzan can steer the team to a better position this season.

‘TFC does not intend to open applications for interested coaches to fill the vacancy.

‘Any decisions on this matter will only be considered once the season ends, including the possibility of appointing Badrul Afzan as the new head coach,’ he said during a training session at the Gong Badak Sports Complex yesterday.

However, he said the club would not be setting any targets for Badrul Afzan to avoid putting pressure on him.

“Steinbruckner resigned following an amicable discussio
n with the management after our 0-1 defeat to Selangor last Saturday.

‘There is no issue of conflict or division within the team, and I urge the players to rise and fight against PDRM FC tomorrow night,’ he said.
