Teo Distributes Murukku To BERNAMA Staff For Deepavali


KUALA LUMPUR, Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching today presented the traditional Indian snack, murukku, to 25 staff of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) who will be celebrating the upcoming Deepavali.

The event, held at Wisma Bernama, was attended by Bernama chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, head of broadcasting Mohd Shukri Ishak and head of Bernama TV Nor Hamzeela Md Hambali.

Teo said that the diversity of Malaysians makes each festive season celebrated in the country unique and exciting for all segments of society.

‘With Deepavali approaching, I wanted to take the opportunity to come here and present some murukku to the Bernama staff who will be celebrating the festival,’ she said.

Teo also wishes Happy Deepavali to all Hindu devotees celebrating the Festival of Lights, which falls on Oct 31, this year.
