TEAM MAS ROAD TO PARIS 2024 TOUR GENERATES ENTHUSIASTIC RESPONSE

KUALA LUMPUR: The Team MAS Road To Paris 2024 Tour, which concluded at the end of last month, garnered a lively response by successfully engaging nearly 15,000 students from 23 schools nationwide.

Notably, these 23 schools are training grounds for national athletes who will carry Malaysia’s challenge at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

‘Through collaboration with the Education Ministry, the National Sports Council (NSC) organised the ‘Jutaan Harapan for the Malaysian contingent’ campaign, focusing on schools that nurture our national athletes heading to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

‘This tour covered 23 schools across the country, involving nearly 15,000 students who participated in various activities including quizzes, video screenings and lucky draws featuring creative messages for our national athletes,’ the NSC said in a statement today.

Among the 23 schools, seven are located in the Northern Zone, followed by four in the Eastern Zone, four in the Southern Zone, five in the
Central Zone and three schools in Sarawak.

NSC said the tour aimed to commend schools that have produced national champions on the global stage and to inspire the development of future champions.

Besides this, it aimed to educate students about the latest developments in national sports and the preparation of our athletes for the world’s largest sporting events.

‘The campaign, themed ‘We Are All Team MAS’, is also aimed to rally support and participation from the community for the national contingent, fostering a strong sense of belonging among Malaysians in light of the world’s premier sporting event.

‘Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also expressed his support for Team MAS by signing the ‘Jutaan Harapan’ campaign postcards for our athletes during the recent 2023 National Sports Awards,’ the statement added.

The Team MAS campaign, launched by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh on June 6, stands as a national initiative to demonstrate solidarity with our national athletes.
