Tarekat Naqsyabandiyah al-Aliyyah Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani registered in Negeri Sembilan – Mufti

SEREMBAN, April 11 (Bernama) — The Tarekat Naqsyabandiah al-Aliyyah Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani, is one of the tarekat (school of order) groups registered in Negeri Sembilan.

Negeri Sembilan Mufti Datuk Mohd Yusof Ahmad, in a statement today, said the tarekat was registered under the Tarekat (Negeri Sembilan) Enactment 2005 with registration number of JMKNNS BTT.070-2/1 (33).

“Based on the study conducted by the members of Jilsah al-Turuq al-Sufiyyah Negeri Sembilan and monitoring of the Negeri Sembilan Mufti Department on the zikir ceremony and activities of this tarekat, either here or in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, it does not go against the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah teachings and the discipline of knowledge of tarekat tasauwuf,” he said.

He said this was further strengthened by the decision of the 117th National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI) Muzakarah Committee meeting in 2020 to review the ban imposed on the tarekat.

Mohd Yusof said the tarekat can be practiced by its followers provided that it did not go against the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah teachings.

Apart from that, he said the tarekat practitioners must ensure they did not commit any act that could lead to slander or cause misunderstanding or went against uruf (social tradition).

Mohd Yusof said it was also a joint decision of muftis of all states.

“Therefore, any polemic against this tarekat must be stopped immediately to respect the decision of the MKI Muzakarah Committee Meeting which obtained the consent of the Conference of Rulers on 4 Jan 2021,” he said.
