Taman Cendana Type 2 Health Clinic Set To Be Completed By End January 2025


JOHOR BAHRU, The construction of the RM36-million Type 2 Health Clinic in Taman Cendana, Pasir Gudang here, which began in 2021, is expected to be completed at the end of next January.

Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said the clinic is expected to begin operating in stages next March.

“This project faced various challenges. The contractor applied for an extension of time (EOT) three times, with the hope being the project would be completed by the end of January 2025,’ he said in a statement today.

He said the Johor Health Department hopes the clinic will be able to ease the congestion at the health clinics around Pasir Gudang once it’s operational.

He added that the nearby Masai Health Clinic received 1,000-2,000 patients daily; the Pasir Gudang Health Clinic (800-1,000 patients daily); and the Cahaya Baru Health Clinic (200-250 pregnant women or babies daily)

Ling said that with the construction of the Taman Cendana Health Clinic, it is hoped that residents in the surroun
ding areas will receive the necessary medical services without having to go to the three crowded clinics, which are situated about three to 10 kilometres (km) away.

He said the Taman Cendana Health Clinic will be equipped with various services, including a surgery department, pharmacy, X-ray, laboratory, dentistry, rehabilitation, social health development and many more.

“This building will also be fully equipped with an air-conditioning system. In addition, the 25-acre area will also provide 530 car parking lots and 100 motorcycle parking spaces,’ he said.
