Taiwan schools offer scholarships, job opportunities for Ilonggos


A group of universities in Taiwan partnered with the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) for the 2024 Intense Program Education Exhibition here on Saturday, aimed at encouraging llonggos to avail of their scholarship with industry opportunities.

ISAT U vice president for external affairs Dr. Nemia Mabaquiao, in an interview on Friday, said the universities under the Taiwan International Talent Circulation Base – Philippines target graduating students, working but looking for more opportunities, and even dropouts interested in pursuing education in Taiwan.

‘While they wanted preferably those who are into science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and information technology, they are also open to other fields as long as they are willing,’ Mabaquiao said.

The program offers free tuition and allowance.

However, scholars need to render two years of return service to the company that provided the grants, but with compensation.

Joining the exhibition at the ISAT U Multipurpose Educational Cen
ter are Kun Shan University, Cheng Shiu University, Minghsin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology, I-shou University, Providence University, and National Chung Hsing University.

Mabaquiao said they would be available at the venue from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

She added that the only requirement to secure a scholarship slot is passing the Taiwan English proficiency exam
