S’wak Career and Training Fair Presents Over 1,100 Job Openings in Multiple Sectors.

SIBU: The Sarawak Career and Training Fair (SCaT Fair) 2024, hosted by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD Sarawak), presents over 1,100 job openings across multiple sectors, announced Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn. He emphasized that the fair is a key initiative under his ministry and is organized in collaboration with strategic partners such as Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) and the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso), along with other agencies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, SCaT Fair serves as a crucial platform for job seekers, students, and educators to explore a wide range of career and training opportunities. This was highlighted at the opening ceremony at Sibu Indoor Stadium, where Minister Sagah’s speech was read by his deputy, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee. Since 2023, MEITD Sarawak has organized the SCaT Fair at two locations annually to enhance accessibility for the public.

The fair was held in Kuching and Miri last year and has be
en expanded to include Sibu this year. The Kuching event took place on October 5 to 6. As Sarawak aims to become a high-income state, fostering a skilled workforce is vital to achieving the state’s development objectives. Events like the SCaT Fair are instrumental in connecting talent with opportunities.

Minister Sagah further noted the importance of providing access to information about potential career paths and training programs in today’s rapidly changing job market, emphasizing its necessity for personal and professional development.
