Sunny weather seen across PH Thursday

MANILA: Fair and sunny weather will prevail over most parts of the country on Thursday, the weather bureau said.

Isolated light rain showers caused by the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, however, will prevail over Batanes, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Benison Estareja of PAGASA said Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao will experience fair and sunny weather, with isolated rain showers, likely in the afternoon or evening.

Up to 34 °C temperature is forecast in Metro Manila and up to 33 °C in Tuguegarao.

“Please take note that the heat index — or the temperature that we might feel — could be 2 to 4 °C higher than those figures,” he said.

Up to 32 °C temperature is expected in Tacloban, Cebu and Iloilo.

Estareja noted that the heat index in the Visayas could reach up to 41 °C.

Zamboanga and Davao’s temperature could reach up to 34 and 33 °C, respectively. Estareja, however, said the heat indices in these areas could be between 38 to 41
°C.

Meanwhile, no weather disturbance is expected until the weekend.

Moderate winds and moderate coastal waters will prevail over Northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
