SUKMA Softball: Perak, Terengganu To Square Off In page System Showdown


MIRI, The stage is set for a showdown between Perak and Terengganu in the page system round, after both teams emerged as the champions of Groups B and A in the men’s softball event at the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA).

In match action held at the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) here today, Perak secured their spot by crushing Sabah 19-2 in a group-stage game that ended in just four innings. Terengganu, meanwhile, maintained a perfect record with three straight wins, defeating host team, Sarawak, 6-4.

In the page playoff system, the winner between the group champions will advance directly to the final, while the losing team will face off against the winner of the match between the runners-up for a second shot at the final.

Group A runners-up Johor, meanwhile, will face Group B runners-up Pahang in the page round.

In the women’s competition, Group C champions Perak defeated Johor 7-5 at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Merbau field, setting up a clash with Group D champions Negeri Sembilan.
