SUKMA 2024: Perak secures first win in cricket against Penang


KUCHING, The Perak men’s cricket team scored their first win in their gold medal defence after beating Penang in their second match at the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) today.

Perak won with over 53 runs at Petra Jaya Cricket and Rugby Field here today, following their defeat to Terengganu in yesterday’s opener.

Meanwhile, Sarawak beat Melaka with seven wickets in their first match of the Games, while Kedah scored their first win, beating Sabah with seven wickets as well.

Cricket offers two gold medals, in the men’s and women’s categories.

The men’s category began yesterday while the women’s category will begin on Sunday, and both competitions will end on Aug 24.
