SSPA: Salary Adjustments Will Help Reduce Leakage, Waste – KKDW

PUTRAJAYA, The implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) with improved salary adjustments, as announced today, will help reduce leakage and waste, which are common challenges in the public sector, according to the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW).

In a statement today, the ministry said that in line with the announcement, the governance within the KKDW management and administration system will also be streamlined and strengthened.

‘KKDW staff must not take lightly the issue of integrity, as it is a fundamental pillar of public service.

‘As a ministry responsible for rural development and sustainability, KKDW staff have pledged to implement every planned reform more effectively and comprehensively, in line with the ‘Luar Bandar Sejahtera’ mission,’ said the ministry.

In addition, KKDW said that the transition from the Malaysian Remuneration System (SSM) to SSPA will boost the ministry staff’s morale and inspire them to be more competitive and committed to contributing t
o the country’s development.

KKDW also expressed its commitment to implement more aggressive work culture reforms, in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement at the 19th edition of Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA) programme here today.

Earlier, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, announced a 15 per cent salary adjustment to civil servants in the Implementing, Management and Professional groups, and seven per cent for those in the Top Management group.

The salary adjustment will be implemented in phases, starting from Dec 1, 2024, for Phase 1, and from Jan 1, 2026, for Phase 2
