Sri Pahang Win, Kuching City Split Points With N.Sembilan


KUALA LUMPUR, Sri Pahang FC secured three vital points after beating Penang FC 1-0 in their Super League 2024/2025 match at City Stadium, Penang while Kuching City FC and Negeri Sembilan had to be satisfied with a point apiece after drawing 1-1 at the State Stadium in Kuching tonight.

Sri Pahang’s foreign striker Mykola Ahapov had to wait till injury time of the first half before scoring the solitary goal of the match, and his team managed to fend off Penang’s attacks in the second half to earn a well-deserved victory.

Sri Pahang is now ninth with 14 points from 12 matches, while Penang falls to 11th with 11 points.

Meanwhile in the other Super League match tonight, Kuching City was unable to capitalise on home ground advantage and had to make do with a single point from their encounter with Negeri Sembilan.

Both goals of the match were scored in injury time of the second half, which dragged on for 15 minutes.

Kuching City substitute Ahmad Hazwan Bakri scored first, with a deft touch during a scuffle for
the ball in the penalty box, but Negeri Sembilan clawed their way back with a header by team captain Annas Rahmat after he rose high into the air to tuck in teammate Takumi Sasaki’s freekick in the 90+15th minute.

Kuching City climbed up one rank to seventh place with 15 points from 12 matches, while Negeri Sembilan is second last with only six points.
