SPA Expects To Receive 1.5 Million Applications By Year End

SEREMBAN, The public sector is expected to receive approximately 1.5 million job applications by the end of this year, according to Public Services Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus.

He attributed the anticipated figure, which represents an increase over last year’s applications, to the SPA’s greater efficiency in recruitment processes and the introduction of a new system for civil servants.

‘We anticipate that by the end of this year, applications will increase between 20 per cent and 30 per cent compared to last year, which saw a total of 1.2 million applications.

‘Alhamdulillah, following the Prime Minister’s (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) announcement of the new SSPA (Public Service Remuneration System), there has been a significant increase in SPA applications. Therefore, we need a more effective screening method to ensure that those selected are truly of high quality,’ he said.

He said this to reporters after the opening of the Seremban SPA Interview Centre (PTD) at UTC Neger
i Sembilan@Angsana Seremban here today.

In the meantime, Ahmad Jailani said the Seremban SPA PTD offers facilities that are more accessible for candidates who have been called for interviews in the state.

He said that the centre also provides internet facilities for candidates to take the Public Service Examination Entry (PSEE) Psychometric Test and offers consultations regarding the Public Services Commission Job Registration System (SPA9) and public service recruitment.

‘SPA hopes that this facility will serve as an effective platform for recruiting qualified candidates to serve in the public sector,’ he said.

Ahmad Jailani stated that the increase in centres was in line with SPA’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the civil servant recruitment process and ensuring the comfort and convenience of candidates during their interviews.

He said that SPA would open another interview centre in UTC Sibu, Sarawak, by the end of the year to provide comfort for candidates in the state.
