malaysiangThe Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Thursday said it would conduct road works at a portion of the España Blvd. in Manila. In an advisory, the agency’s North Manila District Engineering Office (NMDEO) said road concreting/reblocking works at the thoroughfare’s westbound lane from Eloisa to Tolentino Streets are scheduled from Oct. 13 to 17. ‘To ensure minimal impact on traffic in the area, the repairs will follow a strict time period of five days, with mobilization of equipment to start at 11 p.m. (Friday), followed by the breaking and hauling of existing concrete pavement on the following day, then the pouring and curing of concrete pavement,’ it said. The DPWH added that there would be a partial road closure covering two lanes during the said period, as the repair works will start at the first inner westbound lane with nine linear meters and four linear meters from Eloisa Street. Motorists are advised of traffic slowdown in the affected areas and to use possible alternate routes. The project is part of the DPWH-National Capital Region’s commitment to improve road efficiency and safety for riding public traveling within the region.
