RM11.7 mln allocated for Maahad Ahmadi new building – Aminuddin

TAMPIN, Feb 7 — The Negeri Sembilan government has allocated RM11.7 million for the construction of a new building for Sekolah Tinggi Agama Maahad Ahmadi, Gemencheh, near here.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the project was to replace the nearly 50-year-old school building as well as provide a more conducive learning environment for the students and teachers.

He hoped that the school, founded in 1975, would continue to play its role as a centre for the development of Islamic knowledge in the country.

“The construction of the new building is expected to be completed in November 2023. It involves the construction of a male and female dormitory building, dining hall, surau, as well as a single-storey academic block.

“Besides that, this project also involves the construction of perimeter fence, as well as water, drainage and sewage reticulation system,” he said this in a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the project today.

Aminuddin said Sekolah Tinggi Agama Maahad Ahmadi was the only school under the Negeri Sembilan government that was still practicing the Sanawi system and using Arabic and Malay as a medium of communication.
