RM11.5 mln to upgrade facilities at Pantai Kundur, PCB – Exco

TUMPAT, Jan 15 — The Kelantan government has allocated RM11.5 million to upgrade infrastructure at Pantai Kundur and Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) as part of efforts to beautify these two popular tourist destinations.

State Local Government, Housing and Health Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin said the allocation also covered land acquisition cost which is currently being carried out on the two beaches located in Kota Bharu.

“Currently, we are actively beautifying the latest project in Pulau Kundur which already has some infrastructure including access road, parking lots, and tree planting landscaping.

“While in PCB, work has been completed, but needs to be repaired due to erosion,” he told reporters after the Gotong-royong Perdana programme at Pantai Geting, here today.

Also present were Pengkalan Kubor assemblyman Wan Roslan Wan Hamat and more than 500 volunteers comprising those from non-governmental organisations (NGOs), teachers and students from around Tumpat.

Dr Izani also urged more cooperation of all visitors and traders to look after the beaches including disposing of rubbish in the right place to maintain cleanliness, in line with the Kelantanku Bersih campaign.
