RM10,000 Incentive For Sabah Gold Medalist At SUKMA 2024


KOTA KINABALU, The Sabah government will award an incentive of RM10,000 to athletes from the state who win a gold medal in the 2024 Malaysian Games (SUKMA) in Sarawak.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the amount of the incentive was increased from RM5,000 before, while for the silver and bronze medal winners, the Sabah government will wait for a proposal from the state Ministry of Youth and Sports after the championship.

“I hope that the Sabah contingent will succeed in achieving the target of 40 gold medals at SUKMA XXI Sarawak. I want Sabah athletes to compete with high sportsmanship and maintain self-discipline for the good name of Sabah,” he said in a statement here today.

Earlier, the Chief Minister held a meeting with the Sabah wushu squad who successfully contributed three gold and one silver medals at SUKMA 2024 at Pullman Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak.

Hajiji also congratulated the wushu squad who successfully contributed the first gold and silver medals for Sabah.

he wushu squad through Amirah Sofea Azlan in the women’s 45-48 kg wushu sanda, Dione Babyline Fely (women’s 48-52kg sanda) and Fyenlly Himon (men’s 48-52kg sanda).

The silver medal was won by Ericson Bong Cheng Loong (men’s toulu gunshu).
