Restu Foundation To Launch 1 Million Al-Quran Waqf Project At GPU Exhibition In London

KUALA LUMPUR, Restu Foundation will be signing an agreement with the Waqf Project to officially launch the 1 Million Al-Quran Waqf Project for the United Kingdom (UK) during the upcoming 7th Global Peace and Unity (GPU) exhibition at ExCeL London on Oct 19-20.

Restu Foundation executive chairman Datuk Abdul Latiff Mirasa stated the initiative aims to distribute a million copies of Al-Quran across the UK to foster greater accessibility and understanding of the holy text within the country’s diverse communities.

‘The UK communities feel that our Al-Quran is most suitable, and appealing, and the demand is very strong. For that, we are collaborating, we will print copies of Al-Quran at Nasyrul Quran, and the important thing is to raise funds.

‘They appreciate it because the translation we have done is of high quality. Many scholars in the UK have reviewed it and are satisfied with the translation,’ he said when contacted by Bernama today.

Abdul Latif who is also the chief executive officer of Nasyrul Quran,
said this initiative aligns with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s efforts to print a million copies of Al-Quran for worldwide distribution.

‘The impact of distributing a million Al-Quran initiated by Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar) has profoundly affected communities around the world. This is a continuation of that effort,’ he added.

Abdul Latiff said the project will be implemented in phases and take approximately two years to complete.

At the upcoming event, the foundation will showcase over 30 years of its dedicated work, featuring unique art pieces from Malaysia including Al-Quran with various translations and other significant Islamic artefacts.

‘They invited us to hold an exhibition as well as to launch this Al-Quran Waqf project. Typically, attendance at the Global Unity Exhibition ranges from 50,000 to 100,000 people over the period of two days,’ he said.
