REGISTRATION FOR MEL 2024 NOW OPEN

KUALA LUMPUR, Registration for the largest local e-sports tournament, the Malaysia Esports League (MEL) 2024, for state and national leagues is now open until Aug 4.

Esports Integrated (ESI) in a statement today said that e-sports players from across the country can register through the www.esukan.gg platform to participate in the tournament organised jointly by 13 state e-sports associations and three Federal Territories e-sports associations.

‘This is the fourth edition of MEL organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) through the ESI initiative and, this year, MEL will feature four game titles for the leagues and two game titles for the Open Series, offering cumulative cash prizes amounting to RM264,700.

‘The four game titles contested in the leagues are Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), PlayerUnknown’s Battleground Mobile (PUBG) and Garena Free Fire and eFootball Mobile, while the two titles for the Open Series are Valorant and Tekken 8,’ the statement read.

It said that the State League will
take place online from Aug 9 to 18, while the National League will run from Aug 30 to Oct 6.

More interestingly, it said this year’s MEL league format has been given a new lease of life where the players who will represent their state in the National League will be selected by their respective state e-sports association instead of based on team participation as in previous years.

‘More information can be obtained at Esport Integrated social media,’ it said.
