Rain showers likely over parts of PH Tuesday

MANILA: Rain showers are expected in some parts of the country Tuesday, the weather bureau said.

“We’ve seen cloud (clusters) over Mindanao so we expect Davao Region to experience scattered rain showers,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Rhea Torres said.

PAGASA also forecast the area to experience moderate to heavy rains, which could result in flash floods or landslides.

Despite this, Torres said no tropical cyclone was seen to develop or enter the country.

Generally fair weather will prevail across Luzon, but the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will cause light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

Torres said the Visayas and Mindanao will have isolated rain showers likely in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will continue to prevail over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
