Rain Cannot Stop Zhe Yie From Winning First Gold For Terengganu


KUCHING, Raining conditions during the race did not deter Terengganu cyclist Kee Zhe Yie from winning the gold in the men’s cycling individual time trial at the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) here today.

A sterling performance by the young national athlete throughout the 37.5-kilometre race along Lebuh Raya Pehin Sri Adenan Satem ensured he secured victory over 18 other cyclists with a time of 48 minutes 23.880 seconds (s).

The 21-year-old also won the first gold medal for his home state Terengganu at 2024 SUKMA.

Perak cyclist Muhammad Adam Hakimi Nazuan won the silver with a time of 49:34.439s and Lau New Joe of the Federal Territories 49:50.077s placed third.
