PTP donates life jackets to Kelab Media Johor

JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 12 — Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of the MMC Group today donated 50 life jackets to Kelab Media Johor (KMJ), an association for the welfare of media practitioners in Johor.

The 50 life jackets were handed over to the Malaysian National News Agency’s (Bernama) Johor Bureau Chief Nor Baizura Basri, who represented KMJ.

“To date, the media particularly KMJ remains one of PTP’s most important stakeholders. The distribution of life jackets is, therefore, part of PTP’s effort in extending gratitude and appreciation towards media practitioners for the support and many contributions to PTP,” the port concessionaire said in a statement.

The life jackets will be distributed to media personnel who have been assigned to cover flood occurrences within Johor.

Currently, KMJ has 140 members.

In Johor, the latest flood situation has improved with the number of flood evacuees decreasing to 1,227 people as of 8 am today, compared to 2,154 yesterday, at 26 relief centres (PPS).
