PSA intensifies nat’l ID registration in Agusan Sur villages

The Philippine Statistics Authority in Agusan del Sur (PSA-ADS) launched a weeklong campaign to boost Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration at the barangay level starting Monday.

The simultaneous registration drive covers nine barangays across five municipalities and one city in the province.

‘We encourage residents to visit designated locations where our teams are conducting PhilSys registration,’ PSA-ADS said in a statement.

The barangays involved include two each in Bayugan City, Trento, and Sta. Josefa, and one each in Sibagat, Esperanza, and San Francisco.

PSA-ADS emphasized the importance of the national ID, highlighting the convenience and security it offers for public and private transactions.

As of June, PSA data showed 2,341,085 residents in the region were registered in the national system.

Agusan del Norte leads the region with 101.6% of its target registered, representing 671,475 residents. Agusan del Sur follows closely at 99.9% with 648,756 registrations. Surigao del Su
r recorded 98.2% completion with 528,313 registered residents, Surigao del Norte at 93.8% with 407,738, and Dinagat Islands at 92.2% with 93,981 registrations.
