PM Extends Aid to Joselyn Dewi and Family in Kuala Lumpur.


Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended aid to Joselyn Dewi and her family in conjunction with Deepavali. Anwar said the contribution was delivered yesterday by his political secretary Ahmad Farhan Fauzi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted that Joselyn has taken on the role of the breadwinner for her family following the passing of her father, while her mother has returned to the Philippines. Joselyn now cares for her two younger siblings, who are still in school, and her youngest sibling, who has autism. Anwar also mentioned that he has instructed Ahmad Farhan to assist Joselyn with her application for an identity card.

A news portal had previously brought attention to Joselyn’s story, describing her subdued Deepavali celebrations with her three siblings this year.

In a separate Facebook post, Anwar shared that Deepavali contributions and essentials were also delivered to security guard Jayalechmi, who resides with her family in Klang. The contribution was pres
ented by Ahmad Farhan yesterday.

“Brother Farhan Fauzi also had the opportunity to represent me in the Ziarah MADANI session by visiting Puan Jayalechmi’s home in Klang to deliver aid and Deepavali celebration essentials,” Anwar stated. Puan Jayalechmi works as a security guard, and her husband, a lorry attendant, supports their four young children, who are still in primary school.
