PCMM Helps Boost Tourism Through Camper Rally Programme


MACHANG, The Malaysian Camper Van and Motorhome Association (PCMM) is helping the country’s tourism industry through its Camper Rally Tour series.

PCMM president Farman Othman said the programme involves more than 100 members participating in camping trips with their families in campervans.

‘Through this programme, we will introduce campervan fans, both within Malaysia and overseas, to interesting camping spots.

‘We have toured Selangor, Pahang, Kelantan and we will continue this programme in other states,’ he told Bernama after the launch of the Camper Rally Kelate 2024 programme at Dataran Kemahkotaan here today.

The ceremony was officiated by Machang district officer Mohd Zamri Ibrahim.

Farman said 80 participants took part in the camper rally programme in Kelantan, with the Jeram Mengaji campsite in Pasir Puteh selected for a three-day, two-night camping trip.

‘This programme offers our members the chance to travel to different states in Peninsular Malaysia with their families.

‘This initiative al
lows us to indirectly promote Malaysia’s tourism industry, in addition to introducing campervans to a wider community,’ he said.

Farman said the programme also strengthens relations among association members and facilitates the exchange of views on the campervan industry in the country.

According to him, the cost of a campervan ranges from RM50,000 to RM1 million, depending on the individual’s taste and preferences.

He added that campervans have become a preferred choice for camping in Malaysia due to its comfort and mobility.
