P6.8-M shabu seized, C. Visayas drug trade ‘big fish’ arrested

CEBU: A kilo of suspected shabu, estimated at PHP6.8 million, was seized from a convicted felon, who has become a ‘big fish’ in the illegal drug trade in Central Visayas, during a sting operation Monday night.

Authorities arrested Harold Domen Yu, 41, who is known as ‘Jono’, from his place in Cabahug St., Barangay Mabolo here, during a buy-bust.

Police report said Yu could dispose of at least two kilos of shabu every week.

The suspect is now detained at a local police station and is now facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Yu was convicted of a drug case in 2011 by the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Dumaguete City and was sent to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa. He was released in 2016.

Some personalities arrested for drug cases told investigators that they sourced their shabu supply from Yu, whose brother is currently detained in the Abuyog Penal Colony in Leyte.
