Over 7,000 Jobs Created For Sabah Residents – Hajiji

A total of 7,448 job placements for Sabah residents have been successfully implemented as of Sept 27, thanks to various efforts by the government through the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) and other involved agencies.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said these initiatives were crucial in improving the employability of Sabahans, and he urged all parties, including government and private sector agencies, to work together to reduce unemployment in the state.

“I want to see continued strategic collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the private sector to expand job opportunities while providing more relevant training for the people of Sabah.

‘This is to ensure that every individual is offered equal job opportunities, aligned with their skills and talents,’ he said in a statement after officiating the 2024 Mega MADANI Myfuturejobs Perkeso Career Carnival for Sabah here today.

Hajiji said to realise this goal, the Sabah Jobs Portal (SJP) managed by the Human Resource D
evelopment Department (JPSM) and the MYFuture Jobs (MFJ) portal introduced by Perkeso will be merged.

He said that the integration aimed to provide a more efficient job search service for Sabahans.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that the state government was on the right track through the Human Capital Development Blueprint for Sabah (2021-2035).

He said this plan aimed to ensure that skill sets, including technical and vocational education and training (TVET), aligned with current industry needs, as well as to enhance facilities and training tools at training institutes under state and federal government agencies.

He added that various initiatives under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Development Plan were beginning to show positive results, with growing economic development and improved well-being of the people.

‘As a forward-looking strategy, the state government fully supports the establishment of the first world-class Perkeso Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo and hopes it will be implemented soon,’ he s
aid.
