Onn Hafiz Calls On Malaysians To Support Muhammad Shah Firdaus

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi is calling on all Malaysians including ‘Bangsa Johor’ to pray for success and express full support for national track cycling athlete, Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom.

He said the 28-year-old rider from Muar is a manifestation of the success that came along with his unceasing efforts.

“Well done and congratulations to Muhammad Shah Firdaus who made it to the quarter finals of the men’s keirin event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Come on Shah Firdaus! God willing, all Malaysians and Johor will continue to support and stand firmly behind you!

“Come on Malaysians and the Johor Nation! Let’s all pray for success and give full support to Muhammad Shah Firdaus in his mission to hunt for the country’s first gold medal,” he said in a post on his Facebook page today.

The double bronze medalist of last year’s Hangzhou Asian Games will be in action in the quarter-finals of the men’s keirin event at the Velodrome Saint Quentin en Yvelines and will be Malaysia’s sole represent

The quarter-finals are scheduled for 11.29 am on Sunday (5.29pm in Malaysia), followed by the semi-finals an hour later and the final at 1.32pm (7.32 pm in Malaysia).

The 15th day of the Games saw an unfortunate incident for the national contingent when the country’s potential gold medalist, Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang, was disqualified in the first heat.
