Okubo named PNP’s No. 4

Manila: Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has designated Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo as acting Chief of the Directorial Staff, the force’s fourth highest official.

Okubo’s reassignment took effect on Friday, replacing Lt. Gen. Jon Arnaldo who retired from the service on Thursday.

Okubo, a member of the PNP Academy ‘Tagapagpatupad’ Class of 1992, will supervise and synchronize the functions of the PNP Directorial Staff Offices in support of the operations of the Police Regional Offices and National Support Units. He will retain his post as director of the PNP Civil Security Group.

He also previously served as chief of the Directorate for Police Community Relations and the National Capital Region Police Office.
