malaysiangKUALA LUMPUR, The new complex for Sekolah Menengah Integrasi Sains Tahfiz (SMISTA), which will be built in the second quarter of next year, will accommodate more students and school administrators, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.
Mohd Na’im stated that the current capacity of the school, which is operating at the Saidina Othman Ibnu Affan Mosque in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras, can only accommodate 363 students, 86 teachers, and administrators.
‘…the new SMISTA complex has been designed holistically to place…576 students and up to 130 teachers and administrators.
‘Insya-Allah, the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) aspires to produce Islamic intellectuals who can memorise the Quran with strong identity, a generation that will lead the future, in line with the agenda of Developing Malaysia MADANI,’ he said at the ground-breaking ceremony in Bukit Jalil, here, today.

Meanwhile, MAIWP said in a statement that the project, which has been allocated RM70 million under the 12th Malaysia Plan Development Expenditure, is expected to be completed in 2028.
The project includes the construction of academic blocks for classrooms and labs, workshops, a canteen, blocks for dormitories, a dining hall that can accommodate 600 people, a surau, living quarters, and a hall.
