New Davao top cop to enhance modern policing practices

DAVAO CITY: The new Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director has vowed to integrate and enhance modern policing initiatives in the city.

Col. Richard Bad-Ang replaced Col. Alberto Lupaz on Friday as the new DCPO chief.

In his speech, Bad-Ang vowed to foster strong partnerships with other law enforcement non-profit and civic organizations to create safer places for everyone to live, work, and enjoy life.

His priority programs include sustaining the gains and advantages of his predecessors in the fight against criminality, terrorism and illegal drugs, with a focus on personnel morale and welfare, optimal asset utilization, preventive and aggressive law enforcement, and community engagement.

‘Personnel is the most important asset of every law enforcement unit; programs that will protect them and uplift their morale and welfare shall be implemented,’ Bad-Ang said.

Born and raised in Ifugao, Bad-Ang became a proud city resident in 1998 when he married Dr. Maria Theresa Bad-ang. He was a member of Davao’s fine
