New COVID-19 cases top 2,500 on April 25

Vietnam recorded 2,501 new cases of COVID-19 on April 25, the highest daily number in the past over half a year, according to the Health Ministry.

The total number of cases since the pandemic began rose to 11,549,186.

During the day, one patient died from COVID-19, raising the total fatalities so far to 43,188.

Meanwhile, 819 patients were given the all clear, bringing the total recoveries to 10,618,138.

As many as 145 patients are in serious conditions needing breathing support.

Statistics of the Health Ministry showed the number of new COVID-19 cases has been increasing over the past two weeks, and deaths have also been recorded after four months.

The ministry required health departments of localities and medical establishments to intensify vaccination efforts./.
