National Unity Ministry To Enhance Work Processes, Bring Services Directly To The People

PUTRAJAYA, The Ministry of National Unity (KPN) will prioritise improving work processes by bringing services directly to the people, eliminating the need for them to visit the ministry’s premises.

This initiative follows the public service reform announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the 19th Civil Service Premier Assembly (MAPPA) last Friday.

KPN secretary-general Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof said several adjustments would also be made across the KPN and its agencies.

“The KPN will continue to emphasise the aspect of unity, making it the foundation of every development policy formulated in line with the Malaysia MADANI agenda,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the KPN was committed to ensuring the achievement of the three main pillars of the reform: enhancing public service productivity and efficiency, increasing public servants’ readiness to implement changes, and improving national competitiveness.

To realise the public service reform goals, Azman said that KPN would focus on
strengthening the ministry’s structure and human resource competency.

He said several departmental functions had been enhanced by merging certain sections to support the KPN’s commitment to excellent performance.

Regarding work rotation, Azman noted that the process would initially involve the ministry’s top management, aiming to enhance their ability and efficiency in leading their respective teams and ensuring they were always ready for changes in line with the nation’s aspirations.

He also highlighted that human resource development planning would follow, focusing on functional competency to ensure that KPN personnel remained knowledgeable, competent, and continuously improved their performance to meet set targets.
