National Audit Dept Fosters Ties With Larut Matang, Selama Communities Under Madani Adopted Village Programme.


LARUT: The National Audit Department (NAD) has begun to foster close ties with the local community in Kampung Masjid, Ijok here to raise public awareness about the roles of government agencies. Auditor-General Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi stated that the MADANI Adopted Village programme at the village would not only encourage cooperation but also clarify the department’s true role to the public. The initiative includes several activities involving villagers and department staff such as communal clean-ups, friendly football matches, and communal feasts.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, repairs to four houses owned by poor villagers under the Love Your Home programme, organised by the Perak Foundation, will also be carried out under the initiative. This announcement was made by Wan Suraya during the programme, attended by key figures such as Deputy Auditor-General (Finance) Datuk Patimah Ramuji, Deputy Auditor-General (Performance) Datuk Nor Salwani Muhammad, and other local officials.

The MADANI Adopted
Village programme will be officially launched by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad tomorrow at the public field of Kampung Masjid, which hosts around 900 villagers. This initiative has already received positive feedback from villagers, including 72-year-old Rahmah Zainal Abidin, who expressed her gratitude for receiving a new roof to replace her leaking one.

Fellow villager Abdul Samad Abdul Wahab, 57, shared his relief at having his two-year-old roof problem resolved, allowing him to sleep soundly without worrying about rain. Meanwhile, Mohamad Hasan Bakri, the headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Haji Wan Jaafar, highlighted the benefits of the newly completed MADANI Hall for pupils’ co-curricular activities.

Wan Suraya also launched the January 2024 One Leader One Village (Santuni MADANI) programme at Taman Tasik Taiping, attended by Deputy Education Minister cum Taiping MP Wong Kah Woh. She emphasized her personal connection to Taiping, aiming to strengthen ties between leaders and the local co
mmunity. The programme will include engagement sessions to address socioeconomic issues in nearby villages and various side events like aerobic exercises and the presentation of RAHMAH packages to needy families.
