NAFAS Achieves Highest Ever Sales Of Nearly RM1 Mln At MAHA 2024

SERDANG, The National Farmers Organisation (NAFAS) recorded nearly RM1 million in product sales at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2024.

NAFAS general manager Muhammad Faris Arriffin announced that this is the highest sales ever achieved by the organisation in its history of participating in the exhibition.

He said that NAFAS showcased products such as fertilisers, agricultural inputs, whole chickens, chicken cuts, frozen marinated products, and agricultural machinery across five booths during MAHA 2024, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) from Sept 11 until yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, we surpassed our previous sales records at this exhibition. It looks like MAHA 2024, which also marks its 100th year, has brought us great success,” he told reporters at NAFAS Cube here recently.

Muhammad Faris noted that NAFAS signed several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) for collaboration in agricultural product research and development, a notable one being wit
h the Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board, valued at RM9 million over two years.

“We have also received inquiries from Myanmar, Cambodia, and other countries, expressing interest in initiating partnerships for our key products,” he added.

Muhammad Faris highlighted that NAFAS launched several new products, including Peladang 25 liquid fertiliser, suitable for controlled-release fertilisation, and the NAFAS Urban Farming Kit, aimed at encouraging people to grow vegetables at home.

Commenting on the success of MAHA 2024, he noted that the event attracted over five million visitors, demonstrating the public’s growing awareness of the importance of the national food security agenda.

“This also demonstrates that Malaysians are more interested in agricultural products, whether as a means of earning extra income or as a hobby.

“Sales data show that the demand for products like fertilisers for various types of crops has been exceptionally high at this year’s MAHA, selling like hotcakes,” he said.
