Seremban: The Negeri Sembilan Road Transport Department (JPJ) plans to open a new branch in Nilai to step up enforcement on commercial vehicles that frequently pass through the area. State JPJ director Hanif Yusabra Yusuf highlighted that the increased movement of commercial vehicles in Nilai, due to the presence of quarries and development projects, has raised safety concerns among local residents.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPJ has been receiving significant feedback from the public about their safety concerns. There has also been a reported rise in accidents involving commercial vehicles. In response to these issues, JPJ aims to establish a branch in Nilai to enhance enforcement and bring services closer to residents and road users.
Hanif mentioned that currently, the state JPJ is supported by Putrajaya JPJ, Selangor JPJ, and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to ensure effective operations at the Nilai border area. Earlier reports indicated that the state JPJ had taken action against 37,804 commerc
ial vehicles from January to September this year for various offences.
