N.Sembilan Cops Auction Off Seized Assets, Obtain Nearly RM100,000


SEREMBAN, The Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department of the Negeri Sembilan police contingent headquarters has auctioned off items seized during drug busts and investigations in the state with proceeds exceeding RM99,000.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffar Mohd Yussof said the assets that were disposed of had been ordered to be forfeited to the Malaysian government following court proceedings.

‘The auction involved 50 pieces of jewellery in various forms, four wristwatches, and seven vehicles with a reserve value of RM57,175. The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) obtained RM99,981.50 from this auction, and the proceeds were handed over to the government.

‘This auction is a way for the government to recover assets obtained illegally and unlawfully from drug distribution,’ he said in a statement here today.

Dzaffir said from January to August this year, the state JSN has arrested 5,696 individuals for various drug-related offences and seized assets totalling RM4 million.
