myAP Fisheries Programme Boosts RM62.69 Million in Annual Sales.


PUTRAJAYA: Fisheries sector entrepreneurs under the MyAgropreneur Perikanan (myAP) programme have achieved annual sales totaling RM62.69 million from 2021 to the present. In a statement today, the Department of Fisheries (DOF) reported that its statistics indicate an average increase in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) output of entrepreneurs involved in the myAP programme.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme aims to strengthen the position of SMEs in the fisheries sector through various support initiatives and capacity-building efforts. The myAP entrepreneurs have shown significant growth, achieving an annual sales value of RM62.69 million across 230 myAP participants, the statement noted.

The DOF also highlighted that the myKomuniti Perikanan (myKP) programme, involving 246 participants with 6,522 members, has successfully generated an annual income of RM28.9 million. This growth reflects the effectiveness of fisheries entrepreneurship programmes in enhancing productivity and competitivenes

The DOF remains committed to supporting the development of this sector through various programmes and initiatives under the 13th Malaysia Plan, the statement added.
