More RKI Units To Be Built In Alor Gajah Parliamentary Constituency – Adly

ALOR GAJAH, More new houses and repair work on damaged or dilapidated houses, under the Rumah Kasih Ihsan (RKI) initiative, will be implemented in the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency, for the comfort and well-being of the local population, particularly the poor and hardcore poor.

Alor Gajah Member of Parliament (MP) Adly Zahari said the three new houses, costing RM80,000 each, were built this year, through the allocation under the development budget for the parliamentary constituency.

Adly, who is also the Deputy Defence Minister, said that the three RKI units built, one each in the Rembia, Gadek and Asahan state constituencies, were managed by the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM).

‘RKI is one of the initiatives implemented for those who have land but do not have the ability to build a house, or the existing house is too dilapidated and cannot be repaired.

‘We will identify more RKIs which can be developed in the constituency in the future, according to
the needs and budget received, for the well-being of the people of Alor Gajah,’ he told reporters here, today.

He said this after the handing over of RKI housing units, which was also attended by Melaka State Development director Megat Azlani Megat Ramli.

He said that providing adequate housing is a key priority for him as an MP, alongside advancing education and welfare for his constituents.
