Mindef Provides Aid To RMAF Personnel At Gong Kedak Air Base


KUALA TERENGGANU, Ten Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) personnel from the Gong Kedak Air Base in Besut near here, suffering from chronic diseases, received cash assistance and food baskets from the Ministry of Defence (Mindef).

Mindef, in a statement, said Deputy Minister of Defence Adly Zahari presented the assistance during his visit to the air base today.

The aid was also extended to two children of RMAF members – one with a chronic illness and another injured in an accident. He also contributed to the repair of the loudspeaker system at the Ar Raudhah Mosque located within the air base.

Adly’s visit aimed to gain insights into the RMAF operational base’s functions, particularly the fighter aircraft squadron and its support elements. He received a briefing on the air operations routine essential for ensuring the safety of the nation’s airspace.

‘The visit included stops at Hangar Number 12 Squadron and MATRA 3, where he observed the Automated Storage Retrieval System (ASRS) used for requesting and orde
ring spare parts and aircraft system equipment.

‘Adly also toured the Simulator Building, which trains Sukhoi Aircraft pilots using simulator technology,’ read the statement.

He was accompanied by Air Region 1 Commander Maj Gen Datuk Mahadzer Amin during the visit.
