MAPIM: ZUS Coffee Brewing A Million Cups To Help Palestinians In Gaza

BANGI, A leading Malaysian coffee brand, ZUS Coffee, in collaboration with the Consultative Council of Islamic Organisations of Malaysia (MAPIM), has embarked on raising humanitarian funds for the Palestinians in Gaza through the ‘1,000,000 Supporters Campaign and Gaza Special Edition Cup Sleeve’.

The chief executive officer of MAPIM, Dr Ahmad Sani Abdul Alim Araby said the campaign is part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid and solidarity to the people of Gaza affected by the ongoing genocide by the Zionist regime.

‘ZUS Coffee, as a synergistic partner of this campaign, introduces a special edition Gaza-themed cup ‘sleeve’ (a zarf or cardboard insulator to hold hot cup) that will be included with every coffee purchase at their branches nationwide.

‘Users through the ZUS app will also be able to contribute with the options provided in the application. Proceeds will be channelled to humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza,’ he said at a meeting here today.

Ahmad Sani said, through t
he ZUS Coffee special edition Million Cup Campaign, he and ZUS want to convey a message to the international community that Malaysians will continue to stand in solidarity with Gaza.

He said customers can channel donations through the ZUS app from as low as RM1 to RM10.

Meanwhile, Venon Tian the chief operating officer of Zuspresso Sdn Bhd (a Malaysian coffee shop chain since 2019) said the campaign is a step by the leading Malaysian coffee brand in expressing a clear stance against Israel’s cruelty against the Palestinian people.

‘The objective is, we want to spread the message on what is happening in Palestine. We hope this message of the Israeli regime’s brutality can be spread through our cup of coffee,’ he said.

As of yesterday, the death toll of Palestinians from Israel’s continued attacks on Gaza since October in 2023 rose to 39,965.
