Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there had been shortcomings in the official response to weekend flooding that killed eight people and displaced at least 30,000, citing “weakness in coordination.” “I will make sure that the welfare of the victims involved will be given attention,” Ismail Sabri said, after meeting some of the displaced in Selangor, an industrial region surrounding the commercial capital Kuala Lumpur.
