Majority Owner of KDA FC Welcomes Interest from Global Company to Purchase Club.


Alor setar: Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC majority owner, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, has welcomed the interest of a global company to purchase the entire stake and liabilities of the club. He expressed his appreciation for the company’s courage and readiness to invest in the sports industry, acknowledging its challenging nature. Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar encouraged the company or any other interested parties to officially submit their Letter of Interest or Letter of Offer to KDA FC.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar emphasized that KDA FC shareholders are open to considering reasonable offers that align with the club’s interests and future. He stressed the importance of the club’s future over any personal interests, indicating a willingness to entertain proposals that could benefit the team’s long-term success and sustainability.

Recent media reports have suggested that DSAT Group Sdn Bhd, a conglomerate, has shown interest in taking over Darulaman Football Club Sdn Bhd (DFCSB) to b
ecome the new owner of KDA FC. DSAT Group’s executive chairman, Datuk Seri Azizul Tandek, expressed hope that their offer would be given due consideration by all stakeholders involved in the club’s senior management.

In addition to potential ownership changes, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar revealed that KDA FC has not yet secured high-impact assistance or sponsorship to address players’ salary issues. Despite these financial challenges, the club has managed to maintain essential operations, including home and away match management, albeit at minimal costs. He expressed gratitude to sponsors, official partners, and individuals who have supported the club through direct and indirect financial contributions.

Moreover, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar thanked the club’s fans for their ongoing support, particularly through ticket sales for home matches at Darul Aman Stadium. He acknowledged that this support plays a crucial role in sustaining the club’s business ecosystem and is deeply appreciated by the team.
