LTdL 2024: Road Closures, Traffic Diversions In Kuala Kangsar On Oct 1

Several roads in Kuala Kangsar will be closed in stages on Oct 1 to make way for the 2024 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL).

Kuala Kangsar district police chief ACP Heisham Harun said the road closures and traffic diversions for all types of vehicles would be carried out from 11 am to noon to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety in the affected areas during the event.

He said the third stage of the LTdL Perak route would cover Taiping to Cameron Highlands, passing through Kuala Kangsar, with a total distance of 170.3 kilometres (km). ‘The closures will affect KM 51-65 Jalan Ipoh – Butterworth, namely from Bukit Berapit to Kuala Kangsar Hospital, Jalan Raja Idris (from Kuala Kangsar Hospital to Simpang Penaga) and Jalan Kuala Kangsar to Sayong and Tanjung Belanja (from Sultan Abdul Jalil Bridge to Kledang/Kota Lama Kanan).

‘Vehicles from the direction of Sungai Siput-Kledang/Sayong will be diverted to Jalan Ipoh – Butterworth (Kota Lama Kiri), while vehicles from Taman Indah to Jalan Raja Idris will be diverted
to Jalan Taiping (Kuala Kangsar town). Those travelling from Jalan Raja Idris heading to Sungai Siput will be redirected to Jalan Ipoh – Butterworth (Kota Lama Kiri),’ he said in a statement.

Heisham urged road users to plan their journeys to avoid roads affected by the race at the designated times.

‘Motorists are also advised to cooperate by following instructions of on-duty police officers and to use alternative routes to reduce congestion,’ he said.
