Koronadal’ drug peddler’ falls, yields P1-M shabu


KORONADAL CITY: Police arrested an alleged big-time illegal drug peddler and seized over PHP1 million worth of shabu during an anti-drug operation here on Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Col. Amor Mio Somine, city police director, said suspect Richie Baban 42, agreed to sell several sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover agent at about 1 p.m. along Mabini Street.

‘He was quickly arrested after he handed over the illegal stuff and received the marked money,’ Somine said in a statement.

Somine said Baban yielded five sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1,020,000 and his mobile phone.

Detained at the city police detention facility, Baban is facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
