Kemasik Marketing Launches New Cooking Oil, Sets RM500,000 Monthly Sales Target


IPOH, Kemasik Marketing Sdn Bhd aims to achieve RM500,000 in monthly sales for its newly launched cooking oil, ‘Sofea’.

Its director, Amirul Haizi Othman said the Bumiputera company started selling the new bottled cooking oil this month, available in two and five-kilogramme sizes, in Perak, and will be marketed nationwide soon.

He also said Kemasik produces 120 tonnes of cooking oil a month.

‘We have obtained halal certification and Food Safety is the Responsibility of the Industry (MeSTI) certification. We are running various promotions at farmers’ and morning markets in several districts in Perak to introduce the product to the public.

‘A few renowned restaurants in Perak have been using Sofea cooking oil for the past three months,’ he told reporters after the product launch today.

Also present at the event was Perak State Executive Council (Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development), Datuk Salbiah Mohamed.

Amirul Haizi said that the cholesterol-free cooking oil is made of high-quali
ty refined, bleached, and deodorised (RBD) palm olein, enriched with vitamin E.

Meanwhile, Salbiah said in her speech that entrepreneurs in the country can get assistance in terms of advisory services, financing assistance and entrepreneurial training to expand their businesses.

‘This support can be in the form of grants and interest-free loans aimed at easing the burden of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises,’ she said.
