KDN FC Rue Poor Finishing After Draw With Sri Pahang

TEMERLOH, Kelantan Darul Naim (KDN) FC assistant head coach Rezal Zambery Yahya has blamed his players’ profligacy for their 1-1 draw with Sri Pahang FC in their Super League clash last night.

He also attributed the draw to his players making simple mistakes, thus allowing Pahang to equalise.

“We were also let down by silly mistakes… otherwise, we could have had all three points.

“We created many chances but failed to capitalise on them and that’s something we need to improve on,’ he told a post-match media conference at the Temerloh Municipal Council Stadium here last night.

Although he was satisfied with the one point earned and their overall performance, Rezal was perplexed with the sending-off of Layth Ali at the last minute.

“I am pleased with the performance of the first 11… just not sure why Layth Ali was red-carded and we will have to review the incident to see if we can submit an appeal through the proper channel,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Sri Pahang FC coach Fandi Ahmad admitted that his team still
lacked bite upfront.

“We had many chances but our poor finishing let us down. That’s our major problem… when a player doesn’t have the killer instinct, then it becomes difficult (for him to score).

“But, we are not giving up yet. Instead, we will continue to work hard on our finishing during training and help boost the players’ confidence level,’ he said.

The Singaporean coach is also worried about his players facing suspensions after several of them picked up yellow cards during last night’s match.
